Staying active in winter can be a challenge, but Munich has a solution. Starting 1 October, the city is once again offering its indoor sports program “MUCkis für alle” across more than 40 venues.
From popular classics like basketball, volleyball and yoga to modern workouts such as Power Circuit Training, the program provides low-cost and accessible exercise options for all generations.
New highlights for 2025
A special new feature this year is the parent-child training “Circus Skills”, designed to promote balance, coordination and concentration in a playful environment.
A brochure listing all available sports is accessible online or in print at the City Information office in Munich’s town hall.
Accessible, affordable and for all ages
Sports Mayor Verena Dietl underlined Munich’s commitment to being a “sports city”:
“I am delighted that we can once again offer a diverse and exciting program in more than 40 sports halls across Munich. Whether ball sports, fitness or trend sports – our goal is to provide attractive opportunities for sport and social encounters close to home for all generations”.
Sports Director Florian Kraus emphasized that no registration is required, making the program perfect for spontaneous participation.
Youth and young adults up to 21 years old can even join free of charge by presenting an ID card – except for cooperation events with local sports clubs.
Ticketing and participation
A single ticket costs €3.20, while a 4-ticket pass is available for €12. Tickets can be purchased online, at the City Information desk in the Rathaus, or through all Munich Ticket outlets.
With this initiative, Munich aims to keep its citizens active, healthy and socially connected through the cold season – making indoor sports not just exercise, but part of urban life.
