A shocking traffic accident in the Bavarian town of Schrobenhausen has left a 12-year-old boy with serious injuries.
According to investigators, the child was struck by a car traveling at extreme speed on Monday evening around 7:10 p.m. The driver fled the scene without offering help, prompting police to issue an urgent call for witnesses.
Child thrown 40 meters by impact
The incident occurred in the district of Mühlried, where the boy attempted to cross from the street “In der Birks” onto Altenfurter Straße with his bicycle.
Witnesses reported that a car suddenly raced through the 30 km/h zone at an estimated speed of up to 100 km/h.
The impact hurled the boy approximately 40 meters through the air. He was left severely injured on the roadside while the driver disappeared heading north.
Rescue operation and hospital treatment
Residents who heard the crash rushed to the child’s aid and immediately alerted emergency services. A rescue helicopter transported the boy to a specialized clinic. His current condition has not yet been disclosed by doctors.

Forensic experts secured evidence at the scene. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a light-colored SUV or station wagon, possibly white or beige, and is expected to have visible front-end damage. Police are analyzing partial license plate information.
Appeal for witnesses
Authorities are urgently seeking information from the public. The car is said to have sped through the entire town at high speed before the accident, suggesting that local residents may have noticed it.
Investigators are also asking workshops and repair garages to report any suspicious vehicles brought in with fresh front damage.
